watched night at the museum with wanting yesterday.
man it was super funny!!!!!

after that we went for the mng warehouse sale
but i forgot to bring the ad and all i rmbed was that it was near raffles place mrt.
but lo and behold!
when we reached we saw a girl with the cutout in her hand studying the map with her boyfriend.
so we just
(which was disappointingly near to the station so it wasn't much of an adventure xD)
there wasn't much anyway. just got a couple of tops.
then to suntec for dinner.
anw, update about the china trip.
1) Xiamen
- shopping was really good!
cheap cheap stuff <3
our hotel was beside this entire stretch of road lined with shops on either side
and cars and stuff were not allowed in
so basically its a whole walkway of shopping!
2) Shantou
visiting relatives
all the nice farms were gone and became smelly factories though :(
and i just realised i havent updated about asian games.
hmm lets see.
0) it rained. ALOT. for such a desert-y area. i think it rained at least four times the whole two weeks we were there. and roger said it only usually rained three days a year over there. plus i think they said its the first time in 10 years it rained so much.
1) the athletes village was really nice even though we had to walk super far to get to the transport plaza where the buses heading to the pool would pick us up (and every time it rained puddles the size of miniature ponds would form on the potholey ground)
2) the dining hall was impressive but the food was only moderately okay. most of the time it was either too salty or too bland.
3) the pool was impressive and the underwater cameras at the bottom of the pool looked like little robots in space suits
4) we found out that if we waved our singapore flags (in the pool stands) like maniacs the camera guy will come over and film us so we get to see our faces on the big screen beside the electronic time board xD
5) the jap swimmers are super i-just-stepped-out-from-an-anime cute.
6) I lost my phone! somewhere between blocks 28&29 of the athlete's village. (we stayed in block 28)
or maybe some stupid person stole it. never got it back even though i filed like a gazillion lost reports. (ok maybe just two, but still.) :(
7) the opening ceremony was one hell of an experience (and i dont mean it in a good way)
oh sure it was really good but it was terrible when it ended.
think bone-crushing poncho-stealing crowd and drizzly-but-getting-heavier-rain and no umbrellas(hence the need for ponchos: marcus leonard bryan and i were sharing one until some idiots just stole it from right above our heads. literally.) and bitingly cold wind and court shoes(not to mention muddy grassy and slippery ground) and no idea where to go so ended up getting herded round and round a track plus having to wait super long for the buses to fetch us back to the village and you sort of get what it was all about. >:
8) hoarding lots of pocari sweat bottles in our fridge
9) initiation was kinda fun. we were split into two groups. girls minus me in one grp and boys plus me in another. (dont ask why i was chosen to go to the other side.) until it got to the stupid pocari sweat relay(because we had so many bottles left over from the abovementioned hoarding). i'm not a human water tank so actually finishing two bottles at one go is an impressive achievement already, but two rounds?! (which equals to four 500ml bottles)
i'm never touching that drink again.
10) seeing real live falcons at the old souq(souk?) they cost-get this- 500,000 freaking qatari riyals which equals to about 250,000 S$. o.O
11) having people come up to me for my autograph (and to take pictures) during the team singapore dinner at mercure hotel xD (ok so maybe most of them were little kids and they asked every single sportsperson but still! haha xD)
and that basically sums it all up!
my camera was faulty so i didnt bring it.
so for pictures, i just have to wait until ting uploads those in her camera and scavenge around from the other AG swimmers. hehh :p
